Diminishing the pain-body 2: Observe your attachment to the pain.

As we feed the pain-body negative emotions and thoughts, the pain-body becomes so intertwined with our own energy system that it becomes hard to let go. It is initially hard because the negative emotions and thought patterns are so automatic that we think that is just who we are. But then it becomes hard to let go for a different reason— we are actually benefiting from the pain in some way and are therefore resistant to letting go.

From the first practice you learned how to identify the pain-body and reclaim your identity by reciting the simple statement “You are not me” every time you found yourself caught up in a wave of emotion or mental chatter. In this next practice you will start to change your mindset from victim to hero as you realize the only reason the pain-body is still around is because you let it.

Instructions: This is the second of 3 practices to help diminish the pain-body. Stay with this practice for a week then move on to the next.

Practice 2: Observe your attachment to the pain.

The brutal truth is this, if you didn’t somehow benefit from the pain-body you would have released it a long time ago.

Now is the opportunity to observe the resistance within you. Be honest and look under the surface.  Observe the pleasure you get from being unhappy. Once you observe the resistance you become conscious of it. Once you are conscious the resistance dissipates.

There are a myriad of reasons for keeping the pain-body around such as safety, predictability, protection from the unknown, and so on. I have had several clients come to me because they repeatedly spiral down the “I’m so stupid” mental loop. These clients benefited from this mental loop because it gave them permission to be small. To be small is to be safe. I’ve noticed other clients suffer from a pain-body that keeps them stuck in the victim archetype so they can avoid taking responsibility for their lives. If there weren’t benefits then we wouldn’t keep the pain-body around. All it takes is a little light to shine and the darkness goes away.

This is a crucial practice because it turns the tables. You really have more control over your life than you realize.

Energy healing with tuning forks is an incredible support for those wanting to diminish their pain-body. Not only do the vibrations from the tuning forks act as sonar and dissolve or transmute portions of the pain-body, the vibrations also shake up your energy field so that more energy is ready to release. It’s kind of like the old gold miners when they were panning for gold. The vibrations from the tuning forks help you sift through the static so you can see the nuggets.
