Map of Consciousness: Vibration of Fear
In this series we delve deeper into David R. Hawkins Map of Consciousness. My intention is to assist readers in discovering their baseline vibration (where they are now), where they are headed next, and even celebrate with them as they move from one level to the next.
Level of Consciousness: Fear
Frequency: 100 Hertz
Definition:
Fear is an “an unpleasant emotion caused by the belief that someone or something is dangerous, likely to cause pain, or a threat.” - Oxford Dictionary
When someone lives in fear they are often paralyzed by fear of failure, rejection or the unknown. Often they fear they are not worthy and do not deserve intimacy, connection or success in life. This fear keeps them constantly afraid which prevents them from venturing out of their comfort zone.
The Life Experience of Fear:
Generally, those who live in fear experience the emotion of anxiety more often than not and view the world as hazardous, frightening and full of traps waiting to catch them. Their God-view is punitive and they often recoil or withdraw from the world around them. However, fear still is a higher energy vibration than Shame, Guilt, Apathy and Grief. So much so that it can actually motivate and move individuals to action. Individuals suffering from the fear vibration often seek strong leaders who appear to have overcome fear to assist them in conquering fear themselves. Unfortunately, in the process of searching for a strong leader, an individual stuck in fear may settle for co-dependent relationships that enable them to reinforce the fear vibration.
How did this show up for me? I am very familiar with marketing and the importance of social media. However, up until now I’d been a stick in the mud and too afraid to post anything. I chose perfectionism, settling with the status quo, procrastination, and unconscious numbing over facing my true fear, the fear of loving myself. In fact, I even came up with other stories like fear of rejection since I’ve experienced the gut wrenching feeling of discovering men I’ve dated were not faithful. But even the source of that fear is the fear of loving myself. Instead of loving myself I looked to others to love me so I didn’t have to. And when they didn’t that is when I experienced pain. Because I now have the courage to love myself in a world that trains us all not to, I now see social media as a beautiful web of connection, perfect for sending positive vibrations to those I love and those friends I haven’t met yet. And instead of fear, I get to bring self love, trust and vulnerability.
4 Signs You May be Living in Fear Vibration
I really appreciate what Tony Robbins has to say about living in fear. Here are the four signs he suggests looking for to determine if you are living in fear vibration.
Perfectionism. Perfectionism is a mask we wear to keep friends, family and co-workers at bay. The cost of a life devoid of intimacy and connection is worth not facing rejection.
Settling. Settling for less than what we deserve is an indicator that you’d rather live in the comfort of the status quo over confronting the unknown.
Procrastination. Putting off your goals until “tomorrow” only to really never getting around to facing what it really is you are afraid of.
Numbing yourself. When we numb ourselves we are tapping out consciously because you don’t like the emotions you are currently experiencing but are too afraid to create action to change it.
5 Ways to Pull out of Fear Vibration
Here are a few tools I use to pull myself out of fear and into taking action.
Look for the shadow, what is the root cause of your anxiety or fear? The shadow is the deep seated secret that we don’t want others to know about. For example, I first blamed my aversion to social media on the gut wrenching feeling of betrayal. But that was only a secondary fear. The source of the fear, my shadow, is that I didn’t love myself. Once the source is identified you can consciously begin to heal it.
Know that you are a co-creator with God/Source and that you have co-created the perfect life experience to support you on your spiritual and life journey. We are all experiencing what Gary Zukav calls “earth school.” We are all here experiencing growth for our benefit and evolution.
Practice non-judgment. There is no ;”wrong” way or “right” way of doing things. Let go of black and white thinking and see that there are choices and actions that “work” and choices and actions that “don’t work.” From this lens we bring compassion and even fun into our lives as we experiment and move forward with confidence as we figure out what works and doesn’t work for us.
Ball of light meditation. Rub your hands together and then slowly pull them apart. As you do so imagine the person/situation/fear in the ball of light. Slowly breathe out all the emotions and thought patterns around the person/situation/fear into the ball. Then push that ball of light out to mother earth to transform and transmute. I love to amplify this meditation by going to a natural spring or river near my house. I envision the water cleansing the ball of light and then refueling it with high vibration energy by imagining life without that particular fear.
